Back Propagation (backprop.site) is a free learning platform for AI, Machine Learning and Data Science. It turns the scattered free content on the internet into ordered roadmaps you can follow topic by topic and track your progress on. It started as one learner documenting their own AI/ML journey and now has 6,000+ learners.
01Who builds it
Back Propagation is built and maintained by spidey (@lochan_twt), who writes about getting hired and building in AI/ML on X and in the blog. The code lives on GitHub. Questions, corrections and broken links: reach out on X.
02Why it's free
The best AI/ML material (university lectures, official docs, open-source courses, great YouTube teachers) is already free. What's missing is order: what to learn first, what to skip, and what actually matters for jobs. That curation is the product, and it stays free. The site is supported by sponsors, never by paywalls.
03How we choose resources
- Free only. Every resource in a roadmap can be used without paying.
- Job-market driven. Topics follow what AI, ML and Data Science job postings actually ask for, reviewed against 2025–26 hiring data. Research-heavy topics stay optional.
- One roadmap per role. AI Engineer, Machine Learning, Data Scientist, plus the in-depth AI Engineer Roadmap 2026.
- English and Hindi. Hindi resources are labelled, and every topic has at least one English resource, so the “English only” filter never leaves gaps.
- Kept current. Each roadmap shows when it was last updated; outdated or broken resources are replaced.
